GOVERNMENT SEAT HELD. LAMBETH DIVISION OF BRIXTON. A. and 'N.Z.-Sun. LONDON, June 27. -A - by-election was held to-day for the Lambeth division of Brixton, This was rendered necessary by the elevation to the peerage, of the sitting member, Sir P. Dab.iel, now Lord iDalxiel. The result of the polling was; N. Colman (Cons.) 10.358 . J. Adams (Lab.) . . 6,032 . F. J. Laverack (Lib.) . . 5,134 ' % At the last, general election the polling for the Lambeth seat resulted: Sir D, Dalziel (Cons.), 15,755; J, Adams. (Lab.), 7210; F, J. Laverack (Lib.), 4871.
