CASES OF FOOD POISONING.
ILLNESS AT CONVENT SCHOOL TOTAL OF FIFTY-TWO PATIENTS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.! QHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday. Fifty-two cases of food poisoning were included in the notifications of infectious and other notifiable diseases received at the Christ-church office of the Health Department during the week which ended at 110011 yesterday. Colonel F. W. W. Dawson, assistantmedical officer of health in the Canterbury district, states that all the cases occurred at a convent in f.iinaru, the teachers, staff and pupils being affected. Something they hjid eaten at an ordinary meal caused the poisoning, but he had not yet been advised what the food was. All the patients were confined to bed, but none was seriously affected.
