ACCIDENT IN QUARRY.

SERIOUS INJURY SUSTAINED.

Serious injury to the face and eyes was sustained by a stone-worker, Mr. Daniel Barry, married, aged 50, through the explosion of a blasting charge in the Fern dale quarry, off Panmure Road, yesterday morning. Mr Barry was immediately conveyed to the Auckland Hospital. It is feared the patient's sight may be endangered, but the full extent of the injury will not be known until a further examination is made this morning.
