DEATH OF COLONEL.
THE GIBRALTAR TRAGEDY. EVIDENCE AGAINST ACCUSED. (Received May 3, 5.35 p.m.* A. and N.Z.-Suu. LONDON. May 2. Advices received from Gibraltar in connection with the prosecution of Lieutenant Duffield for the murder of Colonel Fitzgerald, whom he shot while* the colonel waa making an inspection, say witnesses gave evidence that Lieutenant Duffield was entrusted with the accounts of the rifle club. He was unable to produce the necessary documents when Colonel Fitzgerald demanded them. Lieuteant Duffield was committed for trial.
