Rugby matches were played yesterday in fine but cold weather. The new grandstand, with terraced approach, which cost £4OOO, was officially opened. Senior results are-—Marist, G, v. Pirates, G; Kaierau, 26 f v. Old Boys, 1G; Technical Old Boys, 17, v. County, 0. CHRISTCHURCIi, Sunday. For the Rugby matches yesterday the grounds were Boftened by recent heavy rains and were in good winter condition. Results are:—Merivale. 21, beat Linwood, 9: Old Boys, 18. beat University, 8; Christchurch, 20, beat Technical Old Boys, 3. DUNEDIN. Sunday. Results of yesterday's Rugby matches are:—University A, 37, v. Pirates, Kaikorai. 6, v. University B. 3: Taieri, 19, v. Union, 9; Zingari, 24. v. Dunedin, 17;Southern, 13. v. Alhambra, 11.
