MOTORING ACCIDENTS.
CAR AND CYCLE COLLIDE. RIDER'S LEG BROKEN. [BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MATAMATA. Thursday. A collision between a motor lorry, driven by Mr. J. Jones, and a motorcycle ridden by Mr. W. Brookes, occurred at Okauia to-day. Mr. Brookes had a leg broken and also received an injury to one arm. He was taken to hospital. The cyclo was extensively damaged MISHAPS AT WHANGAREI. WOMAN KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI. Thursday As a result, of an accident on the Otaika Road late last night, Mrs. Harvey, of Ruakaka had her collarbone and one rib fractured. Mrs. Harvey was a passenger infa motor-lorry which had stopped at the side of the road while repairs were being made to a punctured tyre. She saw another car approaching, and stepped out to warn the driver of the truck, who was mending the puncture. She was struck by • the car and knocked down. The driver of the .truck escaped injury. Mrs. Harvey was removed to hos* pital A motor-car driven by Mr. R. C. M. Harrington collided with a motor-cycle ridden by Mr. D. B. Tavinor at the intersection of Kamo and Kensington Roads. Mr. Tavinor was thrown heavily. He received a severe shaking and injured his shoulder and ankle.' After receiving attention he was able to proceed to his home .The cycle was considerably damage!^
