WATERSIDER DROPS DEAD.
SUFFERER FROM " GASSING." [By TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORBESI'OJCOEN'T. J DO'NEOm.. Sunday. Mr. J, It. Bartholomew, S.M., held an inquest, yesterday at Perl Chalmers regarding the death of George Frederick Robinson, a waterside worker, aged .57. Deceased was a returned soldier and suffered from the effects of "gassiug." On Friday he was working at the steamer Canadian Explorer at Port Chalmers Mid when he went to the pay office to r«eii» his wages he fell down at the door and expired despite attempts at restoration by a doctor and other men. The coroner ordered a, post-mortetn examination ■as a quest ion of strain at work .might be raised in connection with the matter of compensation. The inquest vus then adjourned.
