TO-DAY'S ILLUSTRATIONS. WONDERFUL CAMERA RECORD. Another extremely interesting and highly attractive issue of the Auckland Weekly News is published to-day, %nd again the largo illustrated section is an outstanding feature. It contains a wonderful camera record of current events and misadventures that will make a strong appeal to all classes of readers. For the yachtsmen there is a first-class series of snapshots secured at Lyttelton on Saturday during the contest for the Sanders Cup, in which six provinces were Represented. The Dominion athletic championships are splendidly illustrated on another page, while portraits of all the cricketers selected to make the tour to England are sure to be examined with interest. The mining tragedy on the West Coast, South Island, is the subject of a series of photographs, which includes impressive scenes at the funeral of the four victims. A remarkable picture is that of the steamer Ayrshire burning to the water's edge near Ceylon. Other items of a sensational nature include photographs illustrating the experiences of art English ski-ing party caught by an avalanche in the Aips in Switzerland. The work of patching up the damaged liner Northumberland is also well portrayed. Among the striking panoramas reproduced on the centre double-page is one which has a particular local interest. It shows the whole of the waterfront section of the new railway deviation to Westfield, and points of interest in connection with this great public work are clearly defined. A page of views from the air, showing Australia's new Federal capital. Canberra, in the making, will interest all Other subjects' arc;— Ne- views of the famous Box Glacier; jubilee celebration* at Lawrence; Ra tana's new temple opened; progress of Port Ahuriri: summer days at Wellington; the medical congress at Dunedlri; a splendid new public school opened at Nelson; refresher course for aviators in Christehurch; New Zealand's remarkable recovery in wheat proi duct ion; and deep sea Sshing in the I South Island.
