NEW ZEALAND TEAM. THE ENGLISH ITINERARY* MATCHES WITH COUNTIES* 1 A >VARM WELCOME ASSURED, [iTvOlt OCR OWN CORXIESPONDENif.iI LONDON, Deo. 23. "A few particulars regarding the coming tour of the Now Zealand GvickeJ team to this country in 192? will n«j donbt be of interest. The fixture list has already becii mnda known, and Mr. 11. I). Swan, who has been assisted by Mr. Arthur Sims in drawing up this programme, has been fortunate in being able to arrange a very interesting and comprehensive list of matches. The proposed list of fixtures, sent to New Zealand by a recent- mail, has been approved anti confirmed at h meeting of the county secretaries, held at Lord's. The programme shows that all tlio first-class counties have made fixtures with the visiting team, with the exception of Hampshire, who unfortunately, could not find a convenient date. Other interesting matches are against, M.C.G. (at. Lord's, May 11, 12, 13); Universities (Cambridge, at Cambridge, on May 18, 19, 20; Oxford, at Oxford, on June <l, 6, 7); the Navy (at Portsmouth, May 25, 26, 27); tho Civil Service (at Chiswick, July 16, 18, 19)j the Army (at, Folkestone, July 20, 21, 22); tho Last of England (Wisbech, July 9, 11, 12); and West of England (Exeter, July 27, 28, 29). Matches will also be played against Scotland (at Glasgow, on Juna 24, 25), and Wales (at Llandudno, on September o, 5, 6). Several matches liavo been arranged with minor counties, including Durham (Sunderland, June 18, 213), Northumberland (Nowcastle-on-Tyue, Juno 22, 23), Norfolk (Norwich, August 26, 27), and Bedfordshire (Bedford, August 24, 25). The team will have tho opportunity oF appreciating tho hospitality of English country house cricket at Holyport (May 9, 10, Mr. H. Martineau's XI) end Old Buckenhp.ni Hall (Augusi 29, 50, Mr. Everard Gates' XI). It is also pleasing to not* that th'ey will have the privilege of playing on iho historic ground at Scarborough, as although it was not possible to arrange & fixture there during tho nine day? of the festival itself, Mr. 11. D. G, Lovoso*;Gower has arranged for them to play, in September, a two-day match {winch may possibly bo extended to three days) immediately following on the ether matches of tho festival. Mr. Leveson-Gower went, out of his way to arrange 'this match. The team will be the guests of the Scarborough Cricket Club. The team is duo to arrivo in England on April 29, travelling from New York on the Majestic. It is probable that on arrival they will spond two days in practising at Southampton, where the Hampshire County Cricket Club has placed the county ground at their disposal. They will probably travel to London on Sunday, May 1, and spend tho following week practicing at Lord's, and perhaps plav a couple of practico matches-—-ono at Berkhamsted, and one at Alton, where Major G. Burrell has promised to entertain the Now Zealanders as his guests. The team can be assured of a warm welcome wherever they go, and no stone will bo left unturnod to fieo that they have a pleasant and delightful visit
