KING'S SCHOOL, REMUERA.
NEW HEADMASTER ARRIVES. The new headmaster of King's School, Remuera, the Rev. J. G. T. Castle, M.A., has arrived and taken up residence at the school with his family. Mr. Castlo was appointed last November to succeed Mr, 8, Clifton Smith, who resigned in order to return to Australia. Tho new headmaster comes with a record of three very successful yearn' work in charge of Heretaunga School, Havolock North," Hawke's Bay. This school, which is carried on under tho auspices of tho Anglican Church, increased its roll number considerably while he was headmaster. Sir. Castlo had prevoiusly beon vicar of Island Bay and oi: Eltham, and had had teaching experience at Wellington College and Palmerston North High School. Ho is a former student of Victoria College, and took his M.A. degree in philosophy in 1913. Ho was at ono time a representative hockey player, and takes a keen interest in cricket. Mr, Castlo stated yesterday that no change in tho policy of King's School was contemplated. It would continue to prepare boys for King's College, and tho curricula would still bo arranged so that a boy'could transfer from ono school to tho other without any break in tho continuity of his studios, There were now a number of boys' perparatory schools in New Zealand, and soma had been in existence for many years. They were complimentary to the private church secondary schools. Following, as they did, a welldefined policy, especially with regard to religious instruction and the teaching of classics, they were an established part of tho educational life of the Dominion.
