Mr. W. C. Marshall, of Christchurch, is at the Hotel Cargen. Lieutenant-Commander F. Vaughan, of H.M.S. Dunedin, left by the Tahiti for Vancouver yesterday. Mr. E. W. Hunt and Mr. J. Haleombe, of Wellington, and Mr. A. Whitley, of Arapuni, aro at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. H. Hay, of Wellington, Mr. L. E. Strachan, of Christchurch, and Mr. W. Grounds, of Hokianga, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. G. Davis, Mr. K. J. Mitchell and Mr. M. J. McGuire, df Wellington, and Mr. G, Davis, of Christchurch, are at tho Royal Hotel. Mr. Justice Gavan Duffy and Mr. C. Gavan Duffy, of Melbourne, who have been visiting" Auckland, left for Vancouver by the Tahiti yesterday. Mr. C. L. Gillies, recently science master at the Timaru High School, who has received tho appointment of chief agricultural inspector to the Government, of Tasmania, left Auckland by tho Marama yesterday. Sir James and Lady Gunson leave Wellington by the. steamer Port Melbourne today on a tour of the United Kingdom and the Continent. They expect to be away from Auckland for about 18 months. Yesterday a telegram was sent to them hy the Auckland City Council conveying the good wishes of the council and of the people of Auckland for a pleasant holiday and a safe return to the city.
