ADVERTISING ON FENCE.
ACTION BY COMPANY. COUNCIL'S BAN IGNORED LEGAL ASPECT TO BE TESTED. [BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CHKISTCEIJRCH, Tuesday, Recently the Christchurch Bag Wash l Company applied to the City Council for permission to advertise its own busines# on the fence of its own premises. The council, which has strong views on the unsightliness of hoarding and fence ad-' vertising, refused permission. The company secured legal advice that permission was not necessary, and is carryingout its scheme of advertising. The council has also secured iegaii ailvice and as a result it was decided lajt night that proceedings be taken to have the matter tested at law.
