POWER FOR WAITEMATA.

TURWIIMG-ON CEREMOWY,, FUNCTION AT TAKAPUNA. The official turning-on of electric light and power in the Waitemata Power Board area will take place at the Government sub-station in Northcote Road, Takapuna, at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon. The ceremony will be performed by the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. K. S. Williams, and representatives of various local bodies interested in the supply will be present. A similar ceremony will take place at Helensville at 8 o'clock this evening and will also be attended by the Minister. Civic functions in connection with the turning-on of street lighting will also be held at Takapuna at 8 p.m. to-morrow, and at Birkenhead at 8.30 p.m.
