Lucky Shot-.—-The drive on the reef south has been advanced 4!'t. The reef still maintains its width of 6ft. When shooting down the hangingwall strong gold was seen. The country in the hangingwall is looking well, interlaced with mineral seanls running into the reef, and should make picked stone at any time. Driving north, this face has been advanced 2ft. When boring in the footwall of the reef we drilled into quartz for about 2ft. This quartz; is lying much flatter than the underlie of the main reef,, and looks well. Golden Age.—Crosacuttrng through the reef is being continued A distance of 3ft was driven last week, but no signs of the footwall were seen. In the "face a mineral band, about 4.in. wide, has been struck. Maoriland.—No. 4 level has been cleared and retimbered a further 27ft., making the total distance from the entrance _loo2ft. A fair quantity of water has drained from the face, and although the end of the break is not yet in sight, by the appearance of the face it is expected any time now.
