TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Unsettled and colder weather is indicated, with heavy showers. Conditions will become temporarily wintry in character, with hail and thunder, particularly in districts southward of New Plymouth, and in western districts of both islands. Westerly to south-westerly winds, strong and squally. Seas rough. Barometer, midnight, 30.00 in.; steady. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Present indications are for north-westerly to south-west-erly winds, strong to gale; weather squally with heavy showers and probably colder.
