BOROUGH COUNCIL SEAT.
THE NORTHGOTE VACANCY. NO ELECTION TO BE HELD* The resignation of Mr. J. P. Jackson as a member was accepted by the Northcote Borough Council last evening. The council placed on record it 3 thanks for the services Mr.- Jackson had rendered, particularly in connection with the Reserves Committee. On the motion of the Mayor, Mr. C. A. Deurcberry, the council exercised : the option allowed by Section 42 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, deciding that no by-election should be held to fill the vacancy. (- - * > , -
