GOVERNMENT SAFE.

NEW SOUTH WALES PACT,

DETAILS OF THE AGREEMENT. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Dec. 11. The terms of the settlement of the disput between the Government and Messrs. Y. W. E. Goodin and R. T. Gillies, who opposed the Government, are announced. The terms are a complete repudiation of the dictatorship, the , rejection of " Red" rules, the reorganising of the Labour Party, the dropping from the party of Mr. Willis and his secretary, Mr. Voight, and Mr. Garden. The country is to be given priority in any legislation to be passed, and the country to be given extra representation under ' tjie new redistribution of seats scheme. »

The outcome of the agreement is that the Government will be able to'continue in office and probably the present Parliament will now run the full term. Parliament will mcist likely be called together as soon as possible, probably in early January. Mr. Loughlin, interviewed., said his attitude had not changed since the commencement of the trouble.

An official report of the Labour Caucus meeting states that Mr. Goodin is now back in the party, and that Mr. Gillies has also accepted the agreement, but his return to the narty has been postponed until the terms of the agreement are honoured. Mr. Gillies will support the Government, and in the meantime will not vote against the Government.
