WEEK-END WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 43 hoars from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Unsettled weather is indicated during the week-end, with heavy showers, especially in western and southern districts, although conditions will he fine and bright at intervals, rain predominating during the mornings and evenings. Westerly to south-westerly winds, strong to gale, and squally. Rough seas on west coast. Another intense Antarctic disturbance is centred south westward of the Dominion and a continuance of the present unsettled weather is expected. Barometer, midnight, 29.63 in.; falling. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Present indications are for westerly to southerly gales and unsettled, boisterous and colder weather; rain probable generally, heavy rain with rivers flooded in the West Coast and southern-most districts of the South Island, and snow on the higherlevels.
