FOUND IN ASHES OF HOME

A fire occurred in a cottage at Tenterfield, 314 miles north of Sydney, at an early hour this morning. The. dead bodies of Constable Milton, his wife and three children were subsequently foand among the debm.
A post mortem examination revealed bullet wounds in the heads of all the deceased.
Neighbours say they heard a sound like a shot at midnight, but a niece of Milton, who was sleeping on a verandah of the house and who gave alarm of fire, says she heard nothing unusual until the fire broke out.
Other testimony shows that Milton lived very happily with his wife and family, to whom he was extremely attached.
