POWER FOR WAITEMATA.
CHARGE FOR SERVICE CALLS. FLAT RATE DECIDED UPON. The Waitomata Electric-Power Board met yesterday, the chairman, Mr. Ji W, Hayden, presiding. The charge for ordinary semes calls', i.e., visits of employees to consumers* premises, to attend to faults such as burned-out fuses, etc., was- fixed at a fiat rate of 2s 6d for half-an-hour's attendance. The board would undertake to remedy such faults within 48 hours of receiving a telephone call or other summons from a consumer, though under favourable circumstances the work might be done within an hour. An emergency call, such as might ho needed in the event of a milking-machine motor becom ing' out or order, would be charged ai the rate of ss. In all cases where the presence of the workmen extended over a longer period than balf-an-hour the charge Ayould be 3s 6d per hour. ? It was pointed out tnat the ordinary routine calls such as were charged - for should not bo compared with the maintenance of service lines, the repair of which was guaranteed for twelve months:
