It was at the end of its resources,-having no funds and absolutely no prospect of securing any. in the-near futlire. Disappointment was expressed by some members •at the City Council's attitude of aloofness, others considering that \he council had done sufficient.^ tt wai< stated that there wars still 250 -men seeking work, the great majority of whom, were. not malingerers, butrhonest ( men who were unable to secure employment. The h secretary. reported that although there* "were still many men out of ' work the position was .not becoming, worse.' In support of the City attitude it was explained that* that body was employing 232 extra men one weeit in two. , i
