IMPORTS FROM AMERICA.

Sir,—-The intentions of your correspondent, "Common Sense- Commerce," are no doubt very commendable, but I would like to ask him a question or two. Would he advocate the transference of America's trade to Britain regardless of cost ? If so, how much per cent, more is he prepared to give Britain for similar goods ? Again, if we get the goods from Britain instead of the United States, there will he very much less customs revenue. How does your correspondent propose to make up the deficiency? C.H.N.
