COUNCIL BUS SERVICES.
Sir,—For some time past the Royal Motor Bus Company has met a demand, consistently declined by the City Council, by running a bus down Brighton_ Road and along Shore Road to \ ictoria Avenue. This has been a much-patronised and a convenient half-hourly service to Arney Road, with an extension at certain times to Victoria Avenue- By this service it was possible to reach the terminus in 15 minutes from the post office, as against 40 minutes hy the tram. The City Council, having taken over this company's services, has now issued a time-table which entirely deprives those living at the foot of Victoria Avenue of any service whatever. Not only this, but the service is reduced to an hourly ° ne > and tho terminus brought into Sea View Road. Thus, for instance, there is no bus from 8.35 a.m. to 9.35 a.m. With others, I have regularly used the 9 a.m. bus from Arney Road, but will now re deprived of this. Surely the Citv Council does not consider this matter a 'air deal to those living at the bottom of the Remucra hills. N. R. W. Thomas.
