UNAUTHORISED GUEST.
ASLEEP IN HOTEL BED. SEQUEL IN THE POLICE COURT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DUNEDIN, Tuesday. On Saturday evening one of the servants at the Oban Hotel went to a room to prepare a bed for a visitor, but mado the unwelcome discovery that there was already an occupant who was undressed and fast asleep. The "guest," who was later discovered to be Francis McClusky, had neglected to inform the hotel people of his arrival and consequently a constable was called to investigate. He conveyed the intruder to less pleasant, surroundings at tho police station. MoClusky appeared before Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., this morning and was charged with having been found by night on the hotel premises without lawful excuse. The senior-sergeant stated that defendant had a formidable list, most of the charges being similar to the present one. He understood he could obtain work in the country. "You had better not get off the rails again," warned the magistnte, "or else you will be properly punished." McClusky was convicted and discharged and ordered to learve the city to-day.
