RESCUED LAUNCH SINKS.
DAMAGE DONE TO STERN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN correspondent], CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. The motor launch Dauntless, which was picked up by the 'Maori yesterday with her three occupants, sank at her mooring this morning. The little craft was bailed out yesterday and made fast. Last night there was a strong surge in the harbour. The stern of the launch, which apparently had been strained while she was being taken aboard the Maori, gave way and the vessel sank. On being raised again this morning, she was found to have a badij damaged stem.
