AVIATION IN DOMINION.
FOUR NEW CRAFT ORDERED. BRISTOL FIGHTERS INCLUDED. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHEISTCHURCH, Saturday. So far the description of the scout airplane being purchased through the Air Ministry in England for the .Wigram airdromes is not known, but four other machines have also been ordered. They comprise two Bristol fighters of the service type, one dual control Briston, and one D.H. 50 to accommodate four people. Another wireless outfit which can be converted from telegraphic to telephony haj also been ordered. Recent experiments in converting an outfit for the purpose of telephony were only partially successful. It was possible to hear the voice of the person aloft, but there was considerable interference by other sounds. Not a great deal of passenger flying is being done at the airdrome.
