CONTROVERSY IN GERMANY. SUZANNE LENGLEN'S ACTION." ' ' '■ '"■■ Australian and , : N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) BERLIN, Aug. 28. The action of the German ' and Swiss tennis associations in prohibiting their members from playing against ' Mdllo. Suzanne Lenglen has aroused considerable comment. The newspaper Vossische Zeitung asks the reason for this~action. Of course, it says, Mdlle. Lenglen cannot longer take part in tournaments, but it does not appear logical to prohibit amateurs from playing against her. The prohibition against Suzanne is an incomprehensible step, says the paper. Great professionals have never been a detriment to sport. It would make the lives of amateurs unbearable to remain amateurs.
