TO-DAY'S WEATHER, HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for #24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Weather conditions remain unsettled and, while fine intervals are indicated, rain is expected at times, especially in northern and East Coast districts. Easterly to south-easterly winds, moderate to strong, and occasionally squally. Seas on East Coast rough. Barometer, midnight, 30.00 in.; steady. GOVERNMENT REPORT. Tho - Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Present indications are for strong south-east to south-west winds; weather cold and changeable generally and squally, with heavy showers, particularly in tho northern and east coast districts of the North Island. Barometer unsteady and rising soon in tho North. The storm area is now centred to the north-east of East Cape. RAINFALL RECORD.
