PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE.
OPERATIONS DURING JULY. The following particulars of the loan transactions of the Public Trust Office and new business reported during the month ended July 31, 1926, have been supplied by the Prime Minister. The amount paid out in settlement of new loans was £186,149, making a total of £860,757 since the beginning of the present financial year on April 1 last. Further now loans were granted to the amount of £135,514, and the sum of loans granted but not yet paid is £796,137. In addition, loans have been offered of amounts less than the full loans applied for, and these total . £183,075, making the grand total of loans granted £979,212. There are other applications on ■ hand for loans amounting to £540,645. The month was a very busy one for new business, and the value of estates accepted for administration was £521,687. , There was also an exceptionally large number of wills deposited by living tes-tators—-590—and the number now held is 50,601.
