PLUNKET SOCIETY'S SHOW. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] RAETIHI, Tuesday. A dolls' pram competition was held on Saturday for the- purpose .of raising funds for the forthcoming Bulb Show, which is held in aid of the. local branch of the Plunket Society. The prize winners were:—For best decorated pram, Vergie Fulljamefs, 1; Judy Sigley, 2. Popular voting competition: Judy Sigley (808 votes), 1; Gwen Wills (701 votes), 2. A meeting of the bulb show committee decided to hold the show on October 1. ■ Stewards and judges were appointed and . the secretary reported that arrangements were well in hand. Mr. Russell donated- a valuable rose bowl for competition at the show and the trophy will be awarded to the exhibitor of the champion bloom. Some very fine trophies have been donated, while the school children are especially well catered for. • The Women's Christian Temperance Union have appointed the following officers for the year President, Mrs. W. H. Sandford; vice-presidents, Mesdaraes Houghton, Scarrow, McCowan, Keucke, Smith,- F. Pedersen; secretary, Mrs. Godby; treasurer, Mrs. Griffin; white ribbon agent, Mrs. Ford; organist, Mrs. Ciochetto; entertainment superintendent, Mrs. Larsen; L.T.L. superintendent, Miss F. Scarrow.
