The question of Nepia's defection fr j>n the Maori Rugby team was discuss(id in committee by the Hawbe's Bay Union this evening, and the following statement was supplied to the press: It was decided to write to the New Zealand Union.to the, effect that the Hawke's Bay Union resented a-message, recently published discrediting.. Nepia's action concerning the Maori wrar, and to point out that the letter from the New Zealand Union was before the Hawke's Bay Union only a few days before the reply was expected. It was farther decided to ask if the statement published emanated from a member of the New Zealand Union. A committee was appointed to deal with Neoia's. reply when it was received and to forward it'to the New Zealand Union.
