CRASH IN MID-AIR.
TWO PILOTS LAND SAFELY. UTILITY OF PARACHUTES. (Received 8.55 p.m.) Renter. LONDON, July 30. The utility of parachutes was illustrated when a collision occurred between two aeroplanes of the Royal Air Force 1 . At the time of the impact the machines were flying over Andover at a height of 1000 ft. Both the pilots descended safely to earth by means of their parachutes, although one of them was slightly injured. Both of the aeroplanes were wrecked.
