DAMAGE BY FLOODS.
HEAVY LOSSES INVOLVED. RAIN IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA. A. and N.Z. « PERTH, July 26. The work of repairing the damage caused by the floods in Western Australia is being retarded by further rain. The railway services are still disorganised owing to washaways, but traffic on the main line has been fairly well restored. Many rivers are still running at flood level and several of the main roads are blocked. The Swan Bivor, at Perth, has fallen considerably. The majority of the flooded houses in the suburbs have been reoccupied. The, damage to bridges and roads throughout the south-western part of the State is estimated at many thousands of pounds. Several bridges will have to be replaced.
