INTENSE HEAT WAVE.
WESTERN STATES SUFFER. TWENTY-SIX PEOPLE DEAD. (Received 7.5 p.m.) Reuter. CHICAGO, July DO. The western half of the United States has been sweltering under an intense heat wave for 36 hours. This has been partially broken by rain to day. Twenty six deaths are reported to have been caused by the excessive heat.
