ANNUAL CONTESTS BEGIN.

The Hamilton Gun Club hold its annual open matches at Ruakura to-dsy. Ther* were a good many spectators present. Shooting will be continued to-morrow, when the chief match, carrying a prize of £IOO, will be decided. To-day's results are:— No. 1 Shoot. c£ £25. E. R. Kin? (Waihii. D. Fraser (Te Kuiti), G. North (]Whangarei), H. Clinch, Junr. (Hamilton), 1. Lloyd (Waihi). S. Loaghlin (Hamilton), ar.d J. Thornton (Thames) tied with a possible of 21 birds. Twenty birds wer* secured by ('. Serlclon (Hamilton), E. Rolfe (Marion). \V. Greavea (Otorobanea). A. McCr*adr (Otorohanga*. J. Pollard (Mafsraata). s.nH G. Peach (Hamilton). There were 3i entries. No. 2 Shoot, of £26. —The possible. 21. was secured by W. H. Seminens (Taneattsa). -L McMiken (Hamilton), S. Loughlin (Hamilton?, A. McCready (Oforohanga) and -IThoraton (Thames). Twenty birds were obtained by C. Seddon (Ham-lionl. E. Rolf* (Marton), J. Amundsen (Hamilton', A. Greaves (Otorohangai, S. Tisdale (Hamilton), J. Pollard (Minamata). J. Bedois (Walton), G. Peach (Fnmilton) and W. Stevenson (Hamilton). There were 27 entries. Quail Drive.—E. King and C. Seddon, equal, (> birds; J. Amunsden and G. Peach, equal, 5 birds.
