ORGANISING A BENEFIT.

SAVAGE AND ORPHANS' CLUBS Representatives of tho. Auckland Savage Club and the Auckland, Devonport and Onehunga Orphans' Clubs met on Wednesday evening, when it was decided to organise a benefit concert for Mr. J. W. Ryan, a member of tho Lyric Quartette, who is very seriously ill in Auckland Hospital and will bo unable to follow his avocation for some considerable timo to come. The following officers were appointed to organise tho effort: —Chairman, Mr. H. McCoy, president of the Auckland Savage Club; secretary, Mr. IT. Richards; treasurer, Mr. I). Dunlopj general committee, Messrs. ,1. Crawford, Cater, Ilowden, Gillespie, Plummet-, J. Gibbons, McLcod, Earl, Marks, Sutherland, Jones, Osborne and 13. Gibbons; programme committee, Messrs. McCoy, Crawford, Sutherland, Howden and Richards; advertising committee, Messrs. Gillespie and Alan McElvvain; stage manager, Mr. McElwain.
