BOWLING SEASON CLOSED. [BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] OTOROHAN(iA. Thursday. The official closing of the ladies' croquet club was attended l>y Mrs. F. J. Rolleston, who presented Uie prizes, the winners being Mrs. Fry, Mrs. Crosby, Mrs. Kerr, and Mrs. Bowyer. Afternoon tea was, served and Mrs. Phillips declared the lawns closed. The following competitions were decided on the closing of the bowling green for the season: —President's trophy, Porter defeated Parry, 24—7; Lissaman, Feathers, Rowe and Bell defeated Quirilan and Saundcrson, 16—12. The Otorohanga Football Club, after deciding to join the Waipa Rugby Union, has now resolved to remain in the Maniapoto Union, and will take part in the fixtures for the season. The Teason given is that the boundaries between VVaipa and Maniapoto can only be altered by mutual consent and Maniapoto has refused to give this, having fought hard to get the boundaries fixed. The Operatic. Society held a successful dance in the Town Ifall on Wednesday night. The society intends putting on another opera during the coming season.
