Owing to the lack of runners the stewards of the Chester meeting decided to abandon the final day's racing. SALE OF TEA THAW The Pale of the imported sire Tea Tray to Mr. I. G. Duncan, of the Elders! Ie Stud. Oamaru. is announced. The price has not, been disclosed, but it is understood to have been a large one. Tea Tray is a bay horse by The Tetrarch from Good and (jay. and was imported to New Zealand by the lion. E. W. Alison. The first of his progeny raced this season, and as thev have won about. £6OOO in stakes it will be seen that Tea Tray has commenced his stud career in an auspicious manner. The horse is bound to have a good cfhance in his new home, and if is to be hoped that he will reward Mr. Duncan for his enterprise. Tea Trav was despatched for his new quarters on Monday. Mr. Duncan" has also purchased several mares in foul to Tea Tray, and several young ones bv that si>'e and they will be sent to Elderslie in the near future.
