UNREST IN NICARAGUA.
STATE OF WAR DECLARED. REVOLUTIONARY ACTIVITIES. A. and N.Z. VANCOUVER, May 4. Advice from Managua, Nicaragua, states that the Nicaraguan Congress to-day declared the country to be in a state of war. Tho President was authorised to, make a levy, totalling • 500,000 dollars, ( agaiust the citizens, to cover war expenses.. In order/to safeguard American interests, the United States Government today ordered a cruiser to proceed to Bluefields, Nicaragua, which was captured by revolutionists. During tho fighting there two persons were' killed and several wounded.
