STOCKS AND SHARES.
AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE Business was animated on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. In Government securities buyers wanted practically all classes, but sellers quoted in a few cases only. In banks more than the average number of sales resulted. Australasias changed hands at £l4, Nationals of New Zealand at £44 14s, and New Zealands at 61s. More New Zealands wore sought at 60s 6d, sellers asking 61s 3d. Unions sold at £ls 2s, the market closing at £ls 4s' and £ls- In insurance New Zealands had sale at 39s 7<L The market for South British closed at 56s 6d and 55s bd. In miscellaneous there was a transaction in Milne atid Choyco Debenture Stock at 265, at which figure several sales have been made this week. Taranaki Oils were done at 12s. The market closed at 12s and lis 3d, against 12s 9d and 12s 2d on Tuesday. In mining Alburnias improved on the previous day's rates. The first sales were made at 5s 4d and 5s 3d, the stock rising steadily at the succeeding calls to 6s Bd. The market closed at 6s 9d and 6s 6d, compared with 5s 4d and 5s 3d on Tuesday. Moanataiaris changed hands at 27d, the market closing at 3s and 2s Bd. Lucky Shot, contributing, were in fair demand, three sales taking ptece at Is and one at llAd. , New Waiotahis, contributing issue, were done at Is Bd, two sales, and Waihis at 20s 6d, two sal es.
