OPERATIONS IN ALBURN!A. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Wednesday. The management of the Alb urn: a mine, seeing that the rise is now sufficiently high for the purpose, have decided upon a policy of pushing ahead the crosscut through the reef until its hangingwall is disclosed, then, when the face of the crosscut is sufficiently advanced to permit of work in the north-east face, from which the last haul of picked stone was reported, to resume driving on the footwali of the reef. -Work was going on this afternoon on the crosscut and by the beginning of next week at the latest the company should again be breaking quartz immediately ahead of where gold was last seen in the footwali loader. Battery: From April 22 to 23. 10 stamps ran 64.11 hours, crushing approximately 04 tons of ore. worth £4 10s a ton.
