PURDY VERSUS CHAMBERS. In connection with the Purdy versus Chambers contest the following amateur bouts have been nrrantted:—Parkinson v. Davis, Barclay v. Nelson, Leary v. Beetiiam, Fraer v. McKnight, Richards v. Tobce. Mr. R. Meale will referee the Purdy v. Chamber? contest. Under the new policy of the Northern Boxing Association the referee will bo appointed beforo each amateur bout. WELTER-WEIGHT CONTEST. lIAY DEFEATS LOVERIDGE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Wednesday. " Artie " Hay (Hastings) to-night gained the verdict in a professional welter-weight championship contest with Dick Lovcridge (New Plymouth). The fight went the full 15 rounds, and Hay won all the way.
