RUGBY FOOTBALL.

THE IMTER-ISLAND MATCH. APPLICATION BY AUCKLAND. REINSTATEMENT.. OF PLAYERS. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Poatbiill Union met lust evening, Mr. "A. St. C. Belcher presiding in the absence of the chairman. Mr. 11. Prost. A strong recommendation was made to the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby* Union to play tho North Island v. South Island match in Auckland this year. It 13 expected tho Question will be decidod at the annual meeting in Wellington to-day. It was also decided to ask that the Maori representative team to tour France and J. ho United Kingdom should play a match in Auckland on a Saturday before its departture abroad. College Rifles applied for tho rcgrading of J. E. Johnson from senior to lust junior. Johnson attended the meeting, stating that ho played in the Wellington Club's senior team last year. Tho application wan granted. College Rifles also applied lor tho regrading of B. Dalton and C. Sheehan from seniors to first juniors. Dalton sajd be played for King's College Old Boys' Seniors last year and in tho B representative team. Sheehan was also a member of the senior team of the King's College Old Boys last, year, but had not played in a representative team. The rcgrading of Dalton was refused and that of Sheehan was agreed to. Tho University Club applied for the regrading of J. Bla key from seniors to first juniors. Blnkey played in the University senior team last year. The application was granted. Applications by J. G. Corson, It. P. JTurner, C. A. G. MacCrca, George Terry. W. T. Collins, S. Robinson. L. J.
