MANGAPIKO HALL FUND. [by TEI.ECUAVri.—-OWN COItItESPONDKNT. ] TE AWAMUTU. Saturday. A largely-signed petition from the Mangapiko riding settlers was presented to Mr. J. T. Johnson, chairman of the To Avvumuhi Power Board, to accept nomination for the Wnipa County Council. Mr. Johnson has consented. Mr. J. B. Teasdale, who has represented the combined district of Waipa and Raglan counties on tho Auckland Harbour Board, has been nominated for re-election. A gipsy fair conducted in the streets of To Awamutu by Mangapiko Indies to augment the funds being raised to build a public hall in that district resulted in a net profit of about £3l. Tho St. John's Guild annual flower show was held this afternoon. There were some splendid exhibits, including a remarkably fine array of chrysanthemums. Exhibitors from Te Kuiti and Cambridge were among tho competitors. The champion chrysanthemum, an "Edith Cave)l," was shown by Mr. 11. C. Hainey, of Te Awanuitu.
