THE MAMAKU ROAD.

A MOTORIST'S EXPERIENCE

[BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ]

HAMILTON. Thursday.

An allegation that there were grounds for believing the Mamaku Road was being deliberately tampered with was made at a meeting of tho Hamilton Automobilo Association last evening, when Mr. E. R. Gresham said there was one portion of about 10 or 12 yards of bad road where his car became stranded in the mud. A native with his truck pulled the car out and charged £1 for the service. Mr. Gresharn said a day's work would put the road right. At present it looked like a trap for motorists.

It was decided to write to the authori ties about the matter.
