COMPANY'S SHARES DOWN. DIFFICULTIES CAUSE SLUMP. Sun. LONDON. April 14. Shares in the Sniu Viscosa have fallen from 66s 3d to 55s 7d sinco February. Tho Daily News attributes tho slump in the {-hares to difficulties regarding tho manufacture of sniafil owing to the fact that it is subject to tho British duties on artificial silk.

It is also reported that the manufacture of sniafil is not a commercial proposition and that the erection of a factory in Britain is not likely to bo undertaken.

Snia Viscosa (Societa Nazionalo Industria Applicazioni Viscosa) ia one of the largest manufacturers of artificial silk rayon) by tho viscoso process, having factories in Turin, Pavin, Venaria Realo and Cesano Maderno. It also owns factories carrying on subsidiary operations elsewhere in Italy and controls the only company in Poland producing artificial silk. Recently it has undertaken the production of a new fibre " similar to wool which it calls sniafil—that being the company's trade mark and not a general name for the wool-like synthetic fibre. Shares of the company were introduced to the London Stock Exchange last November, and dealing commencea at 64s to 65s for the 200-lire shares. The issued share capital of the company is 1000 million Uro, having been increased twenty-fold in the last aight years.
