Blood worth, J. Dempsey, ,J. W. Hardley, M. J. Bennett, J. B. Paterson, A. Thompson* E. -J. Phelan, M. .T. Coyle, and J. Donald.

An offer by the Waitemata County

Council to metal the Exhibition Drive, from Clark's gate to the Titirangi reservoir, for £338 16s was recommended for acceptance by the city engineer and the chairman of the Tramways, Water and Electricity' Committee, Mr., A. Thompson. The city .engineer stated that, if the water filtration scheme submitted by the Candy Filter Company were proceeded with the road Would have to be metalled in order that the company might carry out its contract. Mr. Thompson, in reply to a question, said the sum quoted represented the whole cost of the work, the Waitemata County Council having declined to eontribute anything. A condition of the agreement was that work should be carried out to Mie council's full satisfaction. The matter was referred to the committee, with power to act. It was. resolved to proceed with the laying out of the grounds of the new ' Jlemuera branch library, according to plans submitted t>y the architects, Messrs. Cummer and Ford, with certain alterations and subject to the approval of the superintendent of parks. The tehder of G. Howard and Son. of £498 2s, for furniture for the library, was accepted, being the lowest of seven. On the recommendation of the city engineer, it was decided to call tenders for the supply of loadmeters, or portable devices tar ascertaining the weight of . vehicles arid their loads. It was stated the Wellington City Council was using devices of the kind and found them most satisfactory.
