AUCKLAND ARRANGEMENTS.
THE TOWN HALL GATHERING.
PARADE OF RETURNED SOLDIERS
Commemorative of the eleventh anniversary of the landing of the New Zealand forces on the Gallipoli Peninsula, an Anzac Day service will be held at the Auckland Town Hall on Sunday, April 25, commencing at 2.30 p.m. A service will also be held at the Soldiers' Memorial at the Waikumete Cemetery at 3 p.m.
Those participating in'the conduct of the Town Hall service will be: The Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, who will preside j the Governor-General, Sir Charles rergussoti; the Archbishop of New Zealand, Dr. A. W. Averill; the Rev. R. S. Watson and the Rev. G. Stubbs. Special provision has been made for the accommodation of next-of-kin of fallen soldiers, who may obtain admission tickets to the gallery from the secretary of the Returned Soldiers' Association. The ground floor will be reserved for returned soldiers and veterans. , A parade will take place from Queen s Wharf to the Town Hall, and all returned soldiers are earnestly requested to take part. Floral tributes may be deposited at the base of the cenotaph in front of the Town Hall, the wreaths will be taken later to the Soldiers' Memorial at Waikumete. After the conclusion of the Town Hall service the ceremony of depositing the official wreaths at the cenotaph will take place. A small number of seats will be placed within the cenotaph enclosure for the use of elderly mothers of returned soldiers.
The service at the Waikumete Cemetery will be presided over by Mr. E. W. Inder, past president of the Returned Soldiers Association, and the G. C. Cruickshank will deliver an address. Following this the wreaths from the cenotaph will be placed on the memorial.
