GREAT NORTH ROAD.
NEW CONCRETING WORK. NORTHERN HIGHWAY LINK. The City Council has given the city engineer 'authority to proceed with the work of concreting that portion of the Great North Road lying between Meola Creek (the Old Stone Jug) and the city boundary. The completion of this paving will link the city traffic streets with" the recently concreted northern highway at Oakley Creek.
Reporting to the council last evening the city engineer said that it was not his intention to carry out tho concreting of Jervois Road or any other work of paving until the paving work already authorised in Great North Road and Remuera Road was completed. He suggested that 110 further paving work be authorised until both Remuera Road and Great North Road were completed. The recommendation was adopted.
