MILK FOR CHRISTCHURCH.
QUESTION OF PURITY.
YEAR'S INVESTIGATION URGED.
Reporting on the question of the milk supply of i Christchurch the special committee of the City Council stated at a meeting of. the council this week that it had further considered the matter and recommended the council to place a sum on next year's estimates for the purpose of making an intensive survey over a period of twelve months with a view to ascertaining whether the milk supplied was up to a satisfactory standard. In the event of the report being unfavourable, the committee further recommended the council to consider the question of obtaining legislation to enable it to control the supply of milk both inside and outside the city boundaries. The committee also recommended that Mr. B. Grant, dairy inspector, Mr. J. Scott, agricultural chemist at Lincoln College and Mr. F. J. T. Grigg, Government Analyst, be appointed members of the committee.
The report was adopted and recommen dations approved.
